Thanksgiving is just a week away, and this year, we’re ready to cram around the table, stuff our faces, and um, maybe not do any dishes? Luckily, plenty of New York City restaurants have excellent menus to dine on this holiday, with several reservations still available. Here’s where to book a table:
The newly-opened parisian-style bistro by Michelin-starred Chef Jonathan Benno is serving up a traditional feast on Thanksgiving Day this year. The $32 Thanksgiving dinner plate will feature roasted turkey with sage infused gravy, paired with traditional holiday stuffing made with house-made Pan De Campagna, Butternut, Koginut and Red Kuri squash puree and cranberry-orange compote.
Market Table boasts an airy dining room with floor-to-ceiling windows offering West Village views. Influenced by Chef Mike Price’s childhood on his family farm in Maryland, the prix fixe Thanksgiving Day menu is representative of the restaurant’s seasonally-driven American dishes usually served. At $95 per person, the holiday menu features three courses including dessert, with two shareable à la carte options for the table. Plates to note include starters such as the Truffled Parsnip & Leek Velouté and Ricotta Cavatelli, and entrees such as Roasted Holiday Turkey and Pork Milanese, as well as dessert – a S’more Chocolate Mousse and Pumpkin Bread Pudding
Dowling’s at The Carlyle
Newly appointed Executive Chef Sylvain Delpique, formerly of 21 Club, has designed a Thanksgiving menu that features his own interpretations of timeless New York favorites and throwback dishes. The standard menu, with favorites like Steak Diane, New York Strip Loin, Spiced Colorado Lamb Shank, and more will be served for the holiday, with a special dessert menu including Caramelized Pumpkin Pie with whipped crème fraîche, Pecan Pie with vanilla ice cream and Baked Alaska flambéed tableside with Grand Marnier.
Longstanding Hell’s Kitchen favorite and French brasserie Marseille, now in its 20th year, is featuring a seasonally-driven menu for Thanksgiving Day. Priced at $65 per person, Executive Chef Daniel Drexler is crafting a three-course prix-fixe menu with starters that feature the likes of French Onion Soup, Pumpkin Gnocchi, and Escargot, entrees such as All Natural Locally Farmed Turkey, Roast Rack of Lamb, and Honey Glazed Duck Breast. A selection of classic desserts all celebrate the restaurant’s namesake roots as a North African port city, a cultural melting pot, and the French gateway to the world.
Guests looking to enjoy a Spanish-style Thanksgiving feast can head to any of Socarrat Paella Bar’s locations. For $68 per person, the special holiday meal begins with various family-style tapas to share such as Gambas al Ajillo and Pear & Squash salad. For the main course, guests can enjoy a Thanksgiving Paella with confit turkey leg, roasted turkey breast, chorizo, butternut squash, piquillo peppers and mushroom sofrito. The paella is served with side dishes like Crispy Brussels Sprouts, Cranberry Sauce, Roasted Sweet Potatoes with shaved almonds, Cranberry Bread Stuffing with chestnuts and sage, and more. For dessert, guests can enjoy a decadent Pumpkin Cheesecake and Cinnamon Sugar Churros with Apple Caramel Sauce and Chocolate for the table.
Portale in Chelsea will be offering a three-course prix-fixe menu at $115 per person featuring a selection of appetizers, entrees, and desserts with an Italian creative twist. A few starters to highlight include Terrina with muscovy duck, foie gras, kumquat mostarda and Chef Portale’s famed Crudo di Tonno, entrees like Mafaldine pasta with Maine lobster, Calabrian chili, lemon-basil butter, and Tacchino with roast turkey, duck confit, sour cherry stuffing, brussels sprouts, rainbow carrots, and the Bourbon Pecan Torta by Pastry Chef Kaity Mitchell.
The lively Upper West Side Israeli locale by Chef Ari Bokovza is crafting a special prix fixe menu at $75 per person, pulling from menu favorites and new specialties just for the holiday. Offering a selection of appetizers, entrees, and desserts to choose from, additional sides will also be available at $10 each. A few dishes to highlight include Apple Fennel Soup with pomegranate molasses, yogurt, and chives, a seasonal take on their traditional dumplings Pumpkin Shishbarak featuring brown butter, warm yogurt, sage, and hazelnuts, Root Vegetable Fattoush with fresh herbs, sumac, buttermilk vinaigrette, and crispy pita, and the creme de la creme a Harissa BBQ Turkey decked out in potato sumac puree, with a challah and mushroom stuffing, and served with ginger, pomegranate cranberry sauce.
Margie’s at The Rockaway Hotel
Spend Thanksgiving steps from the ocean! The cozy high-end eatery complete with 88-seats is offering a pre-fixe menu of innovative Thanksgiving plates. Guests can choose from options for their appetizer, entree, and dessert courses – standout items include Pumpkin Veloute (horseradish cream & almond pesto), Cider Brined Turkey (with all the trimmings), and Spiced Pumpkin Mousse (maple whipped cream & ginger cookies), to name a few. The pre-fixe menu is $49 per person and $22 for children (12 and under).
Dive into Lincoln Ristorante’s adult prix fixe dinner! For $85 guests can enjoy a selection of appetizers including a delicata squash soup with roasted apples, seasonal spiced hazelnuts, celeriac, and rich ricotta gnudi to a beautiful grilled octopus with borlotti beans minestrone, capers preserved in fresh lemon. After, experience delicious and festive main course menu options from pumpkin ravioli with ricotta, sage, and divine porcini trifolati to a perfected venison served with braised mustard greens, roasted chestnuts, and huckleberries. Finish off the night with a sweet selection of spiced pumpkin cheesecake, bourbon pecan pie and assorted gelati and sorbet desserts. Kids can also dine for only $45, and experience a delectable offering of crispy calamari with pumarola and tartar sauce, as well as mozzarella in carrozza appetizers. Children’s main courses feature turkey parmigiana with all the fixings, fish fingers, and a classic spaghetti and meatballs. To top off the thankful evening, kids can choose from a sweet apple tart with cinnamon graham cracker and cool vanilla ice cream or an irresistible chocolate brownie sundae with cookie crumble and double cream ice cream.
