If the new Barbie movie trailer has you hyped, a new immersive experience can help you live out all your Barbie dreams.
A brand new Malibu Barbie Cafe is slated to open in both New York and Chicago this summer.
The family friendly pop-up restaurant will offer a menu created by Master Chef semi-finalist Becky Brown, inspired by the groovy beachside energy of 1970s Malibu, California, where Malibu Barbie first made its debut.
Presented by the team at Bucket Listers, who created the sold-out touring The Golden Girls Kitchen, the Malibu Barbie Cafe will be all about Barbie-inspired dining in a fast-casual setting. Brown’s menu will offer all day brunch, desserts, and a variety of drinks. The pop-up promises a cool beach vibe, exclusive merchandise and a variety of signature photo moments — including a human-size Barbie doll box- for fans to interact with.
“Bucket Listers is honored to bring The Malibu Barbie Cafe to life,” said CEO and Founder Andy Lederman. “We pride ourselves on creating exclusive experiences for our community of 15 million + fans, concepts they won’t find anywhere else. Barbie has proven to be one of history’s ultimate icons, we just couldn’t pass up this chance to bring her world to life.”
Tickets for the restaurant will be available to the public starting April 19th. Every ticket will include a reserved seat and guaranteed window of time to dine, a choice of entree, and cocktail or mocktail. Pricing starting at $22 for kids and $46 for adults.
“We are delighted to announce the opening of The Malibu Barbie Café, a truly unique dining experience that celebrates Barbie and all the brand represents.” said Julie Freeland, Senior Director of Location Based Entertainment, Mattel. “At Mattel we are always looking for exciting, new ways to bring the Barbie experience to life. From the beach-loving décor to the menu, every detail has been thoughtfully designed to celebrate the iconic Barbie style, with nostalgic details fans will love.”
The Malibu Barbie cafe will open May 17th in New York and June 7th in Chicago.
