Wally, which celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2024, is expanding its motor yacht range with the wallypower50, which could have its global debut at Boot Dusseldorf from January 20-28.
The yacht will also be available in an outboard version, wallypower50X, following the wallypower58 and wallypower58X. The wallytender48 and wallytender43 were the brand’s first motor yachts since it joined the Ferretti Group and are also available in outboard ‘X’ versions.
Stefano de Vivo, Managing Director of Wally, said: “The new wallypower50 is a real key addition to the range, serving as a link between the wallytenders and the wallypowers. As such, we’ve imbued it with everything that both ranges offer and more.
“The wallypower50 sets a new standard for being flexible, practical, dynamic and – of course – iconic. It’s the ultimate example of the evolution of a species and it highlights once again that Wally remains several steps ahead of anything else on the market.”
The wallypower50 was designed to bridge the more open style of the wallytenders and the larger wallypower58.
With an extensive options list including the wraparound fender used on the wallytenders, the wallypower50 can be configured and specced for a range of uses from support vessel to standalone family cruiser.
Like the wallypower58, the wallypower 50 features drop-down wings, which add 6sqm of aft deck space. However, instead of central aft sunpad seen on the wallypower58, the wallypower50 features two separate sunbeds.
The upper cockpit area provides ample seating for eight guests under the coachroof plus four more on two forward-facing bench seats. Below is a large, flexible space, plus a bathroom with separate shower, a large couch and a double bed, with natural light from above and the option of Wally’s Magic Portholes, as seen on the wallypower58.
The closed cockpit is pushed far forward to provide space for inside/outside living, allowing its use in all weather conditions.
Featuring the same twin Volvo Penta IPS650s installed on the wallytender48, the wallypower50 can top 36 knots, cruise at 30 knots cruise and offers the option of easy joystick handling with DPS in close-quarters manoeuvres.
The deep-V hull aids stability and performance in bigger seas, while the model is also offered in the X version with four 400hp Mercury outboards that deliver 48 knots as well as a 240nm range. If the 500hp Mercury Racing options are chosen, the wallypower50X can exceed 50 knots.
Luca Bassani, Wally’s founder and Chief Designer, said: “You can draw a direct line from the original, legendary wallypower118 to the wallypower50. The wallypower118’s heart beats within the wallypower50.”
“The wallypower118’s sharp, angular lines, deep-V hull and aggressive double-chine profile are mirrored in the wallypower50’s dynamic and seaworthy hull, but the wallypower50 is perhaps the purest and most essential in form yet to earn the “power” epithet.
“What’s more, its ability to be anything from chase boat to dayboat, offering everything from utilitarian support to ultimate style makes it another milestone launch for Wally.”
