Just in time for spooky season, and to celebrate Wicked’s 20th Anniversary on Broadway, The Plaza is adding a themed tea to its afternoon menu this October.
The “Defying Gravi-Tea” Afternoon Tea will be available starting Saturday, October 6 through Tuesday, October 2023.
Served at The Palm Court, the high tea service will offer themed sweet and savory bites such as the “Look To The Brest’ern Sky” pate a choux, a purple ube cheesecake, and Glinda’s and Elphaba’s Cucumber Sandwich stacking sliced cucumbers, lemon zest, yuzu, chives and dill between white bread.
Tea is served under the dining room’s Emerald Green lit dome, and Champagne and cocktails can also be added onto the menu. The “Defying Gravi-Tea” starts at $134 per person, with reservations via OpenTable.
Out-of-town guests, or local superfans, can also check into the Plaza’sEmerald City Experience, a one off booking for a special fan on a “first come” reservation basis. Starting at $1,545, the package will include a themed afternoon tea in the Palm Court, two coveted tickets to the sold-out 20th anniversary “Green Performance” of Wicked on October 29, including house car transportation to the theater, a cast signed playbill and a Plaza King Room to relax and sing “The Wizard and I” in the luxury shower in.
Nearby, Serendipity3 is offering a limited-edition Green Frozen Hot Chocolate to celebrate Wicked’s anniversary as well.
